New Patient
Medication management and integrated Integrated Psychotherapy combine pharmaceutical and therapeutic approaches to mental health care. Medication management involves assessing your symptoms, prescribing appropriate medications, and monitoring your response through follow-up appointments. Integrated Integrated Psychotherapy pairs this with talk therapy, providing a holistic approach to address your physiological and psychological needs. This combination aims to optimize your mental wellness by aligning biological treatments with emotional and cognitive support.
At our practice, we believe quality mental health care should be accessible and affordable. We accept an extensive array of insurance plans, including but not limited to SC Medicare, BCBS, Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, and several commercial insurances. If your insurance carrier is not listed, you can call to find out if we can accept your policy: 864-520-2020.
Co-payment is due at the time of service. You can request the co-pay amount prior to your appointment if we have all the required insurance information. If you have not met your deductible, you can contact your insurance company to see if there will be any additional charges once insurance processes the claim. You will be responsible for any charges that arise.
If there is an outstanding balance due to an insurance deductible or any charges not covered by your insurance, you will receive your balance update via a secure text message portal. Our office staff will also notify you of any outstanding balance during your follow-up appointments.
We have designed a simplified yet comprehensive referral system. Clients can effortlessly submit a self-referral online, allowing us to gain valuable insights into their unique experiences from the outset. Alternatively, PCPs can also fax referrals to iTrust, always followed by a self-referral for an in-depth understanding of the client's personal experiences and needs.

To ensure prompt access to care, our waitlist is diligently managed to be no longer than 2-3 weeks. We conscientiously leave spaces in our calendar to accommodate initial consultations, symbolizing our responsiveness and commitment to new clients.
We’re dedicated to providing expert care across a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorders, ADHD, and more. Each condition is approached with specialized care plans that reflect our deep expertise in mental health care.
In alignment with our belief in timely mental health care, clients can schedule an appointment instantly after submitting a self-referral form, with the earliest appointments available within 3 business days. To expedite care coordination, we encourage medical professionals to assist clients in filling out the form if immediate attention is desired.
You'll meet your mental health provider, who will create a supportive and non-judgmental space for you. The provider will discuss your mental health history, current challenges, and mental health goals. Everything shared will be held in strict confidence. The provider may utilize structured interviews or questionnaires to better understand your mental health status. Together, you and your provider will discuss potential treatment strategies and co-create a preliminary plan. Your provider will answer any questions and clarify doubts about the treatment process.
GeneSight fortifies our commitment to personalized care. Analyzing clients’ genetic markers informs practitioners about potential psychotropic medication responses, ensuring a tailored treatment strategy. It involves a non-invasive buccal swab, with results available in 1-2 weeks.
Frequent follow-ups allow us to monitor the effectiveness and potential side effects of prescribed medications and offer a consistent touchpoint for support and adaptation of strategies to guarantee optimal well-being.

If you need to reschedule a follow-up, please notify our office as soon as possible so we can get a new time on the calendar that is convenient for you. Your treatment plan established between you and your provider is designed to alleviate your symptoms and address your mental health concerns. However, some regimens or medications may end up requiring changes. If you are experiencing side effects with a medication, please call or text us at 864-520-2020 regarding your concerns.
If you are feeling as though a medication change is necessary, please schedule an appointment with our team. For your safety, medication changes will only be prescribed during an appointment.
If you feel that your medication is not doing what it should or that it is making you feel worse, do not stop taking it before discussing it with your provider. Some medications or dosages require titration, the process in which you must taper down instead of stopping altogether. If you are on one of these medications and completely stop, you may experience severe side effects, sometimes worse than what you were previously experiencing. Please reach out to our clinical team. Your safety is of utmost importance to us.
Controlled substances are regulated by the Drug Enforcement Agency because they can carry risks such as side effects, potential for abuse, and dependence. Our practice prescribes these medications cautiously, employing different treatment rules and modalities based on the medication class. Your provider's guidance is paramount in understanding and adhering to the usage of these medications.
Refills for controlled substances align with our stringent policy and are available only during appointments to ensure your safety and overall well-being. If you're prescribed one of these medications, you'll be informed.
Clients on controlled substance prescriptions may be subject to random urine drug screenings. Any substance misuse may lead to a mandated reduction or cessation of the medication at our staff's discretion.

Many insurance companies mandate prior authorizations for new medication prescriptions. Generally, pharmacies will fax these requests to our office for us to process. Confirming that your pharmacy has the correct fax number for our office is crucial to ensure there are no delays. However, the final decision rests with your insurance company, which can take 2-5 business days to respond. While we strive to expedite and advocate for your medication approval, the outcome is ultimately at the discretion of the insurance company. We appreciate your patience during this process.
If you've experienced any changes in your insurance, whether a new policy or a company, it's crucial to notify our office as soon as possible. You can simply text a picture of your new insurance policy to 864-520-2020, and we will update your chart. Timely updates help prevent billing discrepancies or unexpected delays in medication approvals, ensuring continuous care. Neglecting to inform us of changes can lead to confusion and unexpected costs from both the pharmacy and your insurance.
An Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statement often arrives via mail and closely resembles a medical bill. The top of the paper will say, "THIS IS NOT A BILL." The EOB will provide details about a medical insurance claim/visit to our office and explain what portion was paid to the provider and what portion of the payment, if any, is the client's responsibility.
If you require access to your treatment records at any point, you can easily request them by contacting our office directly. We maintain secure, confidential records of all your treatment sessions, and these documents can be made available to you upon request. Please note that, depending on the nature of your request, a short processing time may be necessary to compile and secure the records appropriately. Additionally, for your security and privacy, we'll require verification of your identity before releasing any detailed information.
